SSP150: high torque at low engine revs for Nissan Patrol GR 2.8L Y60
SSP150 Kit comes out with an actuator setting at 1.2 Bar and it is able to enhance the power to high values but the real goal is to get a high torque at low engine speeds. The greater air flow processed by the compressor at low revs and the high efficiency of the component, allow to anticipate the value of the driving torque of over 150 rpm, making the driving of the car more performing. The reactivity of the engine increases substantially and the loss of energy, with a consequent need to change gear, occurs at a lower speed than the original turbo. Furthermore it is possible to notice a reduction of specific fuel consumption (gr/CVh) and a drop of the temperature in the combustion chamber (obviously these results depends on the calibration of the diesel pump).
The Mitsubishi TDO4L on witch SSP150 is based, is a very sophisticated turbo equipped with 360° thrust bearing able to support the pressure generated by a boost pressure of over 1.6 Bar without problems (the turbo can withstand a pressure that exceed 2.0 Bar), the carter is in HiSi (a high quality gray cast iron capable of withstanding high gas temperatures), the compressor is very efficient and generates high air flows with a moderate compressor outlet temperature.
The kit is supplied already fully set up for installation in place of the stock turbo and for this reason the following components are included: turbo with pre-calibrated actuator (pressure 1.2 bar recommended for maintaining engine reliability); gas outlet manifold from the turbo necessary for the correct connection to the exhaust pipe; gas inlet and outlet gaskets from the turbine and oil drain; prisoners and nuts; oil drain pipe.
Please note: The injection system must be re-calibrated in order to introduce an adequate flow of fuel, making sure to maintain a correct stoichiometric ratio. For a correct use it is always necessary to flatten the flange of the exhaust manifold to which the turbo has to be connected this in order to avoid gas leakage and loss of performance. When installing the turbo, insert oil into the entry hole of the turbine lubrication system. Our suggestion is to replace the engine oil and the filter. The use of additives for oil is not recommended.
